Born on the bicentennial of our nation’s independence, Grant Peters has lived a life dedicated to his government, state, and nation.  Growing up as a child outside of Dumas, Arkansas, Grant was raised by Gary and Shannon Peters, who made a living as local cotton farmers.  Even at a young age, Grant had always been focused on service and protecting those less fortunate.  He believed that he could obtain this through a career in local government.  After graduating high school, Peters attended the University of Arkansas, earning a degree in political science and a PhD in law.  Returning to Dumas Arkansas, Peters won the 1994 mayoral race with a 98% majority vote.  He went on to serve two consecutive terms up until 2002.  With the recent attacks on 9/11, Grant pursued a path towards the ultimate service.  In February 2002, Peters enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he trained and became an aviator of Seahawk MH-60.  He served on 33 active combat missions.  Rising up to the rank of Chief Petty Officer, Peters retired from the Navy in June 2009.  Returning back to his home state, Grant has continued his life of community service.  Since his return stateside, he has served as Arkansas Land Commissioner.  Outside of his job, Grant volunteers for numerous organizations including Miracle League, Keeping Hope Alive, and the Northwest Arkansas Animal Shelter.  Now retired from Land Commissioner, Peters wants to make an even bigger impact for the well-being of Arkansas.  With his military service, his educational background, and his love for the Natural State, Grant Peters is more than qualified for the U.S. Senate.  Under this position, Grant Peters will uphold this most upstanding ideals of command, citizenship, and government.
